JUST when it seems that all the best bands and all the biggest sounds are hitting these shores from the United States of America, along come Sixty Mile Smile to buck the trend and break the mould.
The Sixty Mile Smile sound is one of power and precision.
The ingredients? A splash of old and new school punk, a throw of metal and a dash of rock. A massive sound and an immediate combination.
But heres the thing that sets Sixty Mile Smile apart from the all the others: This is a band who can write songs. Good songs; memorable songs. SMS boast tunes and melodies that claim residence in your head for so long they should be paying Council Tax.
Evidence of this can be heard on the bands independently financed four track EP, titled Hearts and Minds' featuring the songs 'Our World' 'Misplaced Trust' 'Hearts and Minds' and 'Enemy Within' songs that breathe with energy and life.
Filmed on set at horror movie, Asylum Nights, recent single 'Our World ' is currently on Scuzz channel 471 on Sky, and their latest single, Last Night, airing on both Scuzz and MTV 2!
Sixty Mile Smile have secured successful support slots with established bands such as the Alkaline Trio, Finch, Rival Schools, Tsunami Bomb, Bouncing Souls, Funeral For A Friend, Saves the Day and Coheed and Cambria. The group have been reviewed in Kerrang! magazine on various occassions, receiving praise from K! contributors Mark Griffiths and Nichola Browne. SMS have also received warm notices from the magazine Big Cheese and rock sound.
Sixty Mile Smile have established themselves as 1 of the UK's most respected and exciting upcoming bands. With each show and song more exciting than the last, the best is yet to come...
