WHAT OTHER MAGAZINES ARE SAYING TIN SOLDIERS WAS FEATURED IN ROOM 13 MAGAZINE AS MUSIC ARTIST (BAND) OF THE WEEK IN MAY 2008 :HERE'S WHAT ROOM 13 MAGAZINE SAID: "This week our featured band is Kent's very own Tin Soldiers, an exciting young quartet who mix crushing guitars and hook-laden melodies with sing-along choruses and harmonies - a mix that we are particularly fond of here at R13. With a new single and an upcoming tour in the pipeline, it surely won't be long before Tin Soldiers are marching into a town near you. The band have been busy recording tracks for their first album and have been working with Greg Brimson (who has worked with Supergrass, Metallica and Bush) and John Cornfield (Muse/Feeder/Radiohead). They have received a lot of interest from these recordings with Buzzsaw saying "its only when three hours later when your singing these tunes in the bath that you begin to clock the quality of these tunes", while Drowned In Sound exclaimed "From sensitive ballads to balls out rock songs the band can ably turn their hands to writing memorable hook laden songs". The band recently recorded a music video for fan favourite "24 Hours" which can be seen on myspace and youtube. Band Members: Rich (lead vocals and guitar) Matt W (lead guitar and backing vocals) Chris (drums and backing vocals) Matt J (bass and backing vocals) Influences Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Queen, Feeder, Muse, Skunk Anansie, Sounds Like: Foo Fighters and Feeder blended with Queen. Tour Dates Tin Soldiers will be doing some dates still TBC around their first single release "24 Hours". Future Plans: Tin Soldiers are releasing their first single "24 Hours" in the UK on 28th July 2008". BUZZSAW MAGAZINE:
...its only when three hours later when your singing these tunes in the bath that you begin to clock the quality of these tunes...even with simple ingredients, it takes class to pull it off as well as these boys do. Standout track here would be Day By Day where the band strip back the fuzz and let the singer have his lighters aloft moment. Elsewhere Just What I Needed would seem destined to soundtrack some kind of road trip moment in the next scary-pie-creek movie out of Hollywood. DROWNED IN SOUND: From sensitive ballads to balls out rock songs the band can ably turn their hands to writing memorable hook laden songs.THE NATIONAL STUDENT:
...they show a distinct ability for melody and without doubt the tracks here tick all the right boxes for mainstream radio play.
THE MAG:
There is a subtle but profound difference between a good song and a great song. For this writer, that line is measured in how long after the disc has left the player, you can still remember the hook. This is one department that these young Uk upstarts excel in...a positive glut of massive radio friendly choruses tumble forth from my white earphones. The list of influences are fairly transparent - a liberal dose of Grohl, a touch of death cab for cutie (especially on token ballad Day By Day)...but when delivered with the energy and confidence that these guys do it is easily forgivable. WEMBLEY:
...they can do heartfelt and introspective as well as loud and punchy, as the contrast between Just what I needed and the gently swelling Day by Day demonstrated...If the sign of a good group is people applauding the sound check, then Tin Soldiers should be packing-out
Tin Soldiers, a UK-England band, recently recorded tracks in Fortress studios with Greg Brimson (Producer) and Russ Russell (Engineer) who have worked with Supergrass/Natalie Imbruliga/The Wildhearts/Bush/ Metallica----Mastering was then handled by John Cornfield who has worked with Muse/Radiohead/Feeder/Spergrass/Oasis/Razorlight.
News is spreading very quickly about Tin Soldiers band--- Compliments of so many wonderful friends, PR-Press , Radio & Magazine reviews!!!
